Висвітлюються різні погляди науковців на жанрову природу твору, його художню специфіку. Сюжетобудова, композиція та образна палітра взаємопов’язані з жанровою своєрідністю тексту. У роботі також досліджується, як ці твори вплинули на розвиток жанру антиутопії та як вони репрезентують сучасні суспільні, політичні та технологічні проблеми.
У першому розділі розглядається основні теоретичні питання щодо поняття та основних ознак такого жанру літератури, як антиутопія.
