Стратегічний компонент професійної компетентності перекладача

Abstract

Статтю присвячено обґрунтуванню необхідності визначення стратегічного компоненту в структурі перекладацької компетентності майбутніх перекладачів. Проаналізовано сучасні підходи до розуміння перекладацької компетентності перекладача (когнітивний, дидактичний, експертно-системний, релевантно-теоретичний, психолінгвістичний та емпірично-експериментальний), які передбачають виділення стратегічного компоненту в перекладацькій компетентності чи певних аспектів, що стосуються використання стратегій у перекладацькій діяльності. У проаналізованій структурі перекладацької компетентності з-поміж її шести компонентів виділено стратегічну складову.

The article is dedicated to substantiation of the necessity to define a strategic component in the structure of translation competence of a future translator. In the attempt to define the structure of translation competence, the majority of the scholar single out the strategic aspect, claiming this to be of a complex nature. The analysis of the fundamental approaches to understanding of the structure of a translation competence of a future translator made it possible to outline two classifications related to translation competence structure. The first one is based on the following key approaches: cognitive, didactic, expert systemic, relevant theoretical, empiric and experimental, psycholinguistic. The second classification covers two approaches, with the first one to view translation competence as an innate ability of a translator, and the second approach to considered this competence as an acquired phenomenon. Though all the analyzed approaches single out a strategic component or related to strategy implementation aspects in the structure of the translation competence. There have been identified the following components in translation competence structure: translation service provision (as the key component understood as the ability to use cognitive and metacognitive strategies), which implies the translator’s awareness of his social roles, meeting the requirements of the translation services market and understanding the professional profile of the translator, the abilities to cope with stressful situations and manage the time in translation activity; language (or linguistic) competence; іntercultural competence, which comprises socio linguistic and textual dimensions; іnformation mining competence, implying the ability to search for and find the necessary information by means of the relevant tools and search engines, as well as to assess it critically for reliability; thematic competence; technological competence, that is the knowledge and skills to use appropriate software to assist in accomplishing a number of translation assignments.
