Особливості професійного розвитку науково-педагогічних кадрів Ірландії

Abstract

The participation of Irish academic staff in professional development programmes and events has been highlighted. It has been revealed, that nowadays the professional training requirements for academic staff of third level institutions are changing. Like in the most European states Irish institutions of higher education enjoy significant autonomy in providing continuing professional development for their academic staff. According to the main regulations of the National Strategy for Higher Education to 2030, Irish tertiary institutions set the requirement to their academics to obtain a pedagogical qualification. Providing professional development for lecturers, the vast majority of universities in Ireland established Centres of Teaching and Learning, Academic Practice and Learning Innovation and worked out their professional development programmes. It has been shown, that in the Republic of Ireland a number of nationwide projects (the National Academy for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning; the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, etc.), disciplinary associations of academic staff contribute to their professional growth. The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning was established by the Higher Education Authority and the Department of Education and Skills in 2012. The Forum supports national teaching and learning networks, many of whom promote specific pedagogical approaches which can be implemented within a range of disciplines. The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning has worked out the Professional Development Framework for all staff, who teach in higher education. It is a guide to their professional growth. The mentioned programme defines the structural typology of activities, contributing to the professional development of academic staff. Such types include, first of all, accredited and non-accredited professional growth opportunities. Programmes of teacher education, which are always organised, structured and engaged in consciously, have clear learning objectives, judged and evaluated for recognised credits are considered to be accredited ones. They can be mastered at higher education institutions and lead to obtaining the corresponding diploma, certificate or scientific degree. Non-accredited types of professional development can be collaborative, structured and unstructured.

У статті розглянуто участь ірландських науково-педагогічних працівників у заходах та програмах фахового розвитку. Виявлено, що нині в Ірландії змінюються вимоги щодо професійної підготовки науково-педагогічних працівників закладів освіти третього рівня. Відповідно до основних положень «Національної стратегії розвитку вищої освіти до 2030 р», ірландські ВНЗ вимагають від своїх науково-педагогічних працівників здобуття педагогічної кваліфікації. Забезпечуючи фаховий розвиток викладачів, переважна більшість ВНЗ Ірландії заснували центри академічної практики та розробили власні програми професійного вдосконалення. Встановлено, що в Республіці Ірландія фаховому зростанню професорсько-викладацького складу сприяють чисельні проекти національного масштабу (Національна академія з інтеграції наукових досліджень і професійного зростання науково-педагогічних кадрів, Національний форум професійного вдосконалення викладачів та ін.), дисциплінарні об’єднання науково-педагогічних працівників. Національний форум професійного вдосконалення викладачів розробив програму фахового розвитку науково-педагогічних працівників. Вона є путівником у їх професійному зростанні
