Using authentic multimedia materials in teaching sociocultural aspects of efl.
Abstract
Taking into account the general recognition of the competence-based approach to teaching foreign languages, teachers face the practical task of forming students’ foreign language communicative competence. In connection with rapid globalization processes, it often happens that textbook materials are not enough or they become outdated, so today more and more authentic materials are involved in the educational process. Multimedia materials play a special role because of their value for the formation of sociocultural competence, which in turn is an important component of communicative competence.
